Account and license
Activating a key, how many Macs you can use, moving to a new machine, and what lifetime licenses include.

Free is a real plan, not a trial. It doesn't expire, and every editing feature is available — the limits are on export and sharing.

Activating
Settings → Account & License, paste your key, activate.
Two ways to do it:
- With an account — sign in first, then activate. The license is tied to your account, so you can sign in on another Mac and it follows you. You also get cloud sharing.
- License only — activate the key without an account. Works offline, no sign-up, but it's bound to one Mac and there's no cloud sharing.
You can upgrade from license-only to a full account later without losing anything.

Moving to a new Mac
Deactivate on the old machine first, from Settings → Account & License. That frees the slot, and you can activate on the new one.
If the old Mac is gone — sold, wiped, dead — contact support from Help → Send Feedback to Dev and the slot can be released.
Lifetime licenses
A lifetime license has two separate things going on, and it's worth being clear about which is which:
- Access is permanent. It does not expire.
- Updates come with a window. A lifetime purchase includes new versions for a period. When that window ends you keep everything you have and it keeps working — you simply stop receiving new versions until you renew the window.
So an expiry date on a lifetime license is about updates, never about whether the app still runs.
Subscriptions
Cancelling stops the renewal. Pro stays active until the end of the period you already paid for; after that the app drops to Free. Your projects and recordings are untouched — you keep every file, you just export with the free limits until you resubscribe.
If a payment fails, the card can be updated from the billing portal linked in your account. Access continues while the retry period runs.
Free Pro for students, teachers and pre-revenue builders
There's a request form on the homepage. Describe what you're building or teaching and it gets reviewed by hand.
Privacy
Recording, editing, export, transcription, AI voices and voice cloning all run on your Mac. Nothing is uploaded unless you explicitly create a share link.
