Record Monday.com without exposing team data. Guide for board onboarding, automation tutorials, and dashboard walkthrough recordings.
Record how your team's Monday board works — column meanings, status values, automation triggers, who updates what. New team members watch this instead of asking 'how does this board work?' in every standup.
Record Monday automations — 'when status changes to Done, notify manager and move to Archive group.' Show the recipe builder, configure each step, test the automation. The builder's cascading UI only makes sense on video.
Record Monday Dashboards — chart widgets, numbers widgets, battery widgets. Walk stakeholders through the dashboard so they understand what each widget shows and how to filter it.
Record Monday.com templates in action — show the board structure, automations, integrations. Template sellers use video demos as primary marketing material.
In Screenify Studio, select Window Capture and pick the Monday.com window.
Use a demo board with test data. Monday boards contain real project statuses, team member names, and business metrics.
Open Monday.com in Chrome. Check the workspace sidebar (left) — it shows all boards and folders. Board names like 'Client Pipeline Q4' or 'Hiring Tracker' reveal internal projects. Collapse workspaces you won't demonstrate.
Open the board you'll record. Review the People column — it shows team member names and avatars. Review the Numbers column — it may show budget, revenue, or salary data. Filter rows or hide sensitive columns before recording.
If recording automations, go to the Automations center (lightning bolt icon at top of board). Review existing automations — their descriptions may reference specific people or conditions. Open only the automation you'll demonstrate.
Monday's boards use color extensively — status columns, timeline bars, people tags. Ensure your recording resolution captures color differences clearly. Some status colors (light pink vs light orange) look identical after compression.
Auto-zoom on automation recipe steps. Monday's automation builder shows 'When [trigger] → Then [action]' with dropdown selectors for each parameter. The builder panel is narrow. When you click a dropdown to select 'Status changes to Done', auto-zoom zooms in so viewers can read the specific option selected.
Webcam overlay for team onboarding. Monday board walkthroughs are essentially onboarding videos. Adding your face via PiP makes it feel like a personal tour from a teammate, not a silent cursor moving across a colorful grid.
Hide sensitive columns before recording. Right-click any column header > Hide Column. This removes columns like 'Budget', 'Salary', 'Client Contact' from view without deleting the data. Show only the columns relevant to your tutorial.
Demonstrate one view at a time. Monday boards support Main Table, Chart, Calendar, Kanban, Timeline, Files, and Form views. Each view shows the same data differently. Record each view separately — switching between 6 views in one recording is overwhelming.
Recording with the People column showing real names. Every row shows team member names and profile photos. If this is an internal process board, names like 'Sarah (CEO)', 'Mike (Fired Last Month)' are visible. Use a demo board or hide the People column.
Leaving all workspace boards visible in the sidebar. Board names reveal your project portfolio: 'Acquisition Target Analysis', 'Competitor Monitoring', 'Budget Cuts Q4'. Collapse workspace folders before recording.
Recording the full board without filtering. A Monday board with 200 items across 15 groups is a wall of colored cells. Apply a filter (Person = Me, Status = Active) to show 10-20 relevant items. Explain the filter as part of the tutorial.
Configuring automations without testing them. You build a 3-step automation recipe and move on. Viewers don't know if it works. After building the automation, trigger it (change a status, move an item) and show the automation running — notification sent, item moved, value updated.
