v2.2.3

Screenify Studio v2.2.3

Your recording doesn't have to sit in the middle

Until now the recording was locked to the centre of the frame. It can go wherever you want it — tucked into a corner, pushed against an edge, or half out of frame to leave room for whatever you're putting beside it.

What's New

  • Position your recording — a new Position card under Background, with nine anchors and a free-drag pad. Or hold Shift and drag the recording directly on the canvas. Push it all the way to an edge, or past it: at maximum a quarter of the frame stays visible. What you set is what you export.
  • Drop audio files straight onto the timeline — drag an mp3, wav, m4a, ogg, flac or aac in from Finder. Land it on the Music or Voiceover row to choose, or drop it anywhere and it goes to Music with a one-click "Move to Voiceover" if that's what you meant.
  • Light & Shadow: the Over and Under cards preview the overlay you picked, instead of a stand-in.

Improvements

  • 3D Transform position matches the export — the position inside a 3D Transform segment was drawn about four times too far in the preview, and stretched differently sideways than vertically. The preview and the finished video now agree, and 3D Transform shares the same position scale as the new Position card.

Fixes

  • No more black canvas when opening a project — the editor occasionally came up with a completely black preview, and the only way out was to pick an aspect ratio by hand.
  • Zoom aims at the right spot when the recording is off-centre.
  • Drop shadows follow a repositioned recording in multi-window recordings.
  • Light & Shadow overlays no longer disappear on photo mockups.
  • Style presets remember the position you saved with them.
  • The Position card is available whenever no mockup is on — it used to stay greyed out after you switched a device mockup off.
  • Command line and AI assistants: screenify is found where it's actually installed, and "a Mac mockup" is understood as one.

Note

Projects that use a 3D Transform segment will export slightly differently than before — the position now renders where the editor shows it. Opening a project once in this version updates its settings file to the new position scale; a project touched by 2.2.3 and then opened in an older version will show its 3D Transform position in the wrong place.
