Smart Zoom Studio — Cinematic Camera Control
The zoom system grows up. Beyond the classic single-point zoom, v1.6.0 introduces two new authoring modes that let you direct the camera like a film editor — keyframe choreography for precise multi-point camera moves, and storyboard composition for shot-by-shot visual planning. Layer in per-keyframe 3D effects to give every zoom a cinematic edge.
Added
- Three Zoom Authoring Modes — Pick the workflow that fits the shot. Simple keeps the one-zoom-one-focus flow you already know. Keyframe lets you place multiple zoom states across a region — each with its own depth, focus, hold duration, and easing curve, with the camera gliding between them automatically. Storyboard lets you draw zoom rectangles directly on the canvas, pick a motion preset (static, drift, pulse) for each one, and let the camera orchestrate the sequence.
- Per-Keyframe 3D Effects — Apply cinematic 3D rotations independently to each keyframe or storyboard rectangle. Choose from 12 bundled presets (Rotate Left/Right, Tilt Up/Down, Spin, and more) organized by axis and intensity. Mix subtle setups with dramatic rotations inside the same region for fully directed motion.
- Visual Keyframe Editor (Open Canvas) — A dedicated visual editor for keyframe regions. Position keyframes on a stage view, drag to reposition, and fine-tune depth and focus with full visual feedback.
- Storyboard Rect Overlay — In Storyboard mode, draw zoom rectangles directly on the video preview. Reposition, resize, and reorder visually, with timeline markers showing exactly when each shot fires.
- Per-Keyframe Hold Duration — Make the camera pause at any keyframe for a custom duration before transitioning. Perfect for emphasizing a UI element or giving viewers time to absorb a section.
- Smart Suggest UX (preview) — UI groundwork for AI-suggested zoom shots, ready to plug into future intelligence releases.
Improved
- Timeline Marker Polish — Storyboard rectangles and keyframes now have visible diamond markers on the timeline strip, with clickable hold bars and end-tick handles for direct manipulation. Shift+drag a marker to reposition it without leaving the timeline.
- Speed Change Cascading — Changing playback speed now correctly rescales keyframe times, hold durations, and storyboard rect timing. Slow a region to half speed and every keyframe shifts to its proportional new position automatically.
- Smart Clipping × Zoom Regions — When Smart Clipping removes timeline ranges, zoom keyframes that fall outside the new region bounds are automatically cleaned up. No more orphan keyframes after a clip.
- Keyframe Delete — A trash button is now available in the keyframe editor to remove individual keyframes. The minimum-two-keyframes constraint is enforced automatically, and selection shifts to the adjacent keyframe after deletion.
- Camera Behavior + Animation Gating — In Storyboard mode, the per-region camera behavior and animation panels are now hidden, since both are owned per-rect by the storyboard system. Cleaner, less ambiguous UI.
Fixed
- Watermark Toggle Stability — Fixed a React state-ordering issue that could fire a console warning when toggling the watermark on and off rapidly. Toggle is now silent and stable.
- Smart Clipping Dialog Accessibility — Smart Clipping dialogs now expose their title to screen readers correctly.
- Storyboard Mode Canvas Cleanup — The legacy orange focus rectangle (a holdover from Simple mode) is now hidden in Storyboard mode, so the canvas stays clean before any rects are drawn.
- Storyboard Focus Drag Block — Clicks on an empty storyboard canvas no longer silently mutate the underlying region's focus point.
- 3D Effect Engine Parity — Per-keyframe and per-rect 3D effects render correctly in the cinematic export pipeline with full visual parity to the live preview.
Known Limitations
- 3D + Rounded Corners — Video rounded corners may appear sharp when a 3D effect is active. Visual-only artifact during preview, no impact on the final output. Tracked for a future fix.
