Record Your Voiceover

Narrate with your own voice — record directly in the editor while your video plays. With recording, importing, and AI generation, every way to narrate now lives on the same Voiceover track.

• Record voiceover in the editor — Hit record, watch the preview play, and speak. Your narration lands on the Voiceover track exactly where you started it. Start from the timeline's "+" menu, or right-click the Voiceover track.
• Countdown and instant retakes — A 3-2-1 countdown sets you up (switch it off to record the moment you press R), and after each take you can Replay, Retake, or Keep — retakes re-arm at the same spot so you can go again right away.
• Live mic meter — Check your level before and during the take, and pick your microphone right on the record card.
• Re-record in place — Redo any recorded passage from its properties panel; it stays exactly where it was.
• Subtitles from your voice — One click transcribes a recorded take into captions on the Caption track.

• Three ways to add narration — Click an empty spot on the Voiceover track to choose: record your voice, import an audio file, or generate AI narration.
• Precise alignment — Recording starts the instant the video actually rolls, so your narration lines up with what you watched.
• Stutter heads-up — If the preview stuttered during a take, the review step lets you know so you can retake with confidence.
